The letters are there, spread out before my eyes by a dismayed Gitta.

Reading this letter, where proposals and requests flow, I rub my eyes: am I dealing with a sect, or the Superstar Angel?

L'Ange Superstar: apparently, anything goes to help spread the word about the Dialogues. Quotes on T-shirts, tablecloths or curtains; plates decorated with the Angels - what face will they have? Calendars - those already exist, they're sold by Swiss nuns for the benefit of the poor - at least it's a 'charitable' work - and all sorts of distressing gadgets: the apotheosis of bad taste. And if that's all there was to it...

– You can't know, Gitta sighs, the number of times I refused the rights for a film… Can you imagine what they would have done with the Angel!

The Dialogues are, it seems, a prey of choice, which everyone or almost everyone would like to seize. A bit everywhere, “people with esoteric turbans” – to use an expression dear to the Scribe of the Angels – believe themselves mandated to teach them in their own way.

The Angel is pulled to hue and dia: on the side of an endless intellectual verbiage, but not without smugness, sometimes seasoned with an incredible romantic naivety – or on the side of spiritualism and mediumistic possession, yet withered with so much force in the interviews. Gitta hands me a letter, the most extravagant: that of a lady to whom a “spirit” had revealed, in a state of trance, that she was the reincarnation of Lili – whose surname he had even given. Unfortunately, that surname was wrong.

– I wrote to him very kindly, says Gitta, to advise him not to listen to any message from any “spirit”. And you know what she answered me:

– “If you don't recognize me as being the real Lili, it's because you're not the real Gitta! »

There is also the close battalion of those who claim to Explain the Angel, to interpret the Angel, to know everything about the Angel because they are “intimate friends of Gitta”.

- But I don't know them!" protests Gitta. They've written to me once or twice, I've replied, and now they're brandishing my letter like a flag, a patent for 'angelic spirituality'. I had nothing to do with it!

You know, if it weren't for our work, the rigor of our work, there are times when I would be really disgusted. And my hair is getting more and more white. It's as if I had become an impediment to interpreting in circles; as long as I'm here, you can't make the text of the Interviews say just anything and the rest. I also know it from friends, there are people who are already preparing for the aftermath of Gitta. And when I'm gone, what will happen? The worst, necessarily the worst.

And me, faced with this surge of kitsch, what can I do? But tell me, what can I do?

“Only one thing, I believe, Gitta. Put your affairs in order, like the good housewife you are, and make your will. Bequeath to us, to all of us who have not experienced the Interviews, the good use of the teaching of the Angel.

Thus came to light this “Testament”: five points and a codicil which bring us back to the essentials, specify the pitfalls to avoid, prevent possible slippages. It is obvious that no one will prevent minds greedy for power or money – or simply confused – from getting their hands on the word of the Angels. But no doubt it is still possible to limit their audience, and to warn present or future readers so that they do not let themselves be led astray.
