Painting the light - Tribute to Bang Hai Ja

We are deeply grateful to Hai-Ja, who passed away on 15 September 2022. Hai Ja was a regular participant in the Forum 104 workshops and in the work of the ADDA association. With Alex, her husband, they translated for eight years Talking with Angels in Korean, published by Library of Souls in Seoul.

Hai Ja remains an honorary member of ADDA, and we would like to thank her for her contribution to the dissemination of Dialogs, in particular for its translation into Korean, as well as that of Morgen / Dawn. His life and work continue to shine throughout the world.

Born in Seoul, the Korean War left its mark on her childhood, and she was soon at the service of Art. At the age of 24, she arrived in Paris and continued her studies at the Beaux-Arts, learning the art of painting icons and frescoes. At the age of 30, she married Alexandre Guillemoz and they had two children. The family returned to Korea where, for 10 years, Alexandre, an ethnologist, collected precious testimonies on the shamanic practices of great healers. Hai-Ja taught at the Fine Arts School in Seoul. On their return to Paris in 1976, she discovered Talking with Angels which became her bedside book and would inspire her throughout her life. She met Gitta Mallasz, who breathed new life into her work. the eye of light that sparkles at the heart of the material ". From then on, his paintings bore titles evoking "Matter - Light", "Cellular Light", "Between act and matter springs the spark", " A smile is the prayer of every little girl cell". It expresses this "attraction of love from the weight to the Light, and from the Light to the weight". - of which the Angel speaks in Dialogues. She writes: "I can hear the sound of the light awakening in the cells. The eye of light sparkles in the heart of matter. Suddenly, everything becomes ONE and blossoms into light". The titles of his works : "Matter is dissolved in Light. "Light clothes itself in matter."

She wants to " to paint with the eye of the heart, to capture the true image of things and to manifest the life that is in them". She wants to move forward "on the path where you can hear the heart of the universe beating".

Exhibitions followed one another around the world, and she was recognised as the most eminent Korean artist of her time.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Talking with AngelsHai-Ja decides to exhibit 70 works of art at the Korean Cultural Centre in Budapest. Anne and I attended, and I had the honour of presenting Hai-Ja's artistic career to the Hungarian public, as well as the history of the Talking with Angels and ADDA's activities. During the exhibition, one interview followed another. In front of numerous journalists and photographers, radio and TV producers, Hai-Ja thanked the Beings of Light who taught him through Dialogues. She explained that each of her paintings was inspired by this unique experience that took place in Hungary in 1943-44. The crowds of visitors filled all the exhibition rooms, and in silent contemplation the Hungarian public discovered the richness of the message of the Angels of Budaliget, revealed and transmitted by Hai-Ja.  

In front of the Four Messengers, symbolised by candles, Hai-Ja gave thanks to Hanna, Lili and Joseph for their sacrifice, to the Angels for their teaching which has inspired her for over thirty years, and to the Hungarian language, " language of the Angels ". She told us about her meeting with the Dialogs when it was published in 1976, which was a response to her first spiritual experience, at the age of 8, on the banks of the family stream. The sparkling light dazzled her in the water, which illuminated the pebbles, the trees and the whole forest around her. She entered into communion with the subtle Light-Matter that breathes and pulsates in every form, and committed herself to the service of this Light. From the depths of her being rose a burning desire to be able to express it through her art.

Later, in one of her visions, Hai-Ja found herself painting a picture in a dazzling light, and realised that above her and parallel to her hand holding the brush, an Angel's hand was painting with her, as if through her, and that their two hands had become one, in union, painting the Light.

His humility and gentleness, his loyalty to the Light and his fervour confirm that the New Man is already here, shining forth and transforming everything into Beauty and Truth.
