On August 6, the Orthodox and Roman churches have celebrated the Transfiguration of Christ for centuries. The Gospels relate that, mounted on the mountain with three disciples, Jesus appears to them transfigured, conversing with Moses and Elijah, two great prophets of Judaism.<\/p>\n

\u201cJesus took with him Peter, John and James, and he went up the mountain to pray. As he prayed, the appearance of his face changed and his clothing became dazzlingly white. And behold, two men were conversing with him; they were Moses and Elijah; appearing in glory, they spoke of his approaching departure which was to take place in Jerusalem. Peter and his companions were overwhelmed with sleep, but when they remained awake, they saw the glory of Jesus and the two men who were with him. As these men separated from Jesus, Peter said to him, \u201cTeacher, it is good that we are here. Let's make three tents: one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah. \u00bb He didn't know what he was saying<\/strong>. As he spoke thus, a cloud appeared which covered them. Fear gripped them as they entered. \u00bb Luke 9. 28-34<\/p>\n

The interview of October 13, 1944 of the\u00a0Talking with Angels<\/em>\u00a0evokes this episode and explains how the disciple did not know what he was saying:<\/p>\n

House on the rock.
\nJesus is the rock.
\nHis foot walks on the rock, climbs the mountain.
\nThere, above, the sky opens,
\nand matter is transfigured into Glory.
\nThe ignorant disciple stammers,
\nhe has never seen
\nLight and matter united: miracle.
\n"Let's pitch the tent up here,
\nin the light on the mountain. \u00bb
\nThe disciple did not know what he was saying.<\/strong>
\nThe new home is not built;
\nthe new home comes down,
\nif she finds the real rock.
\nThe true rock that Heaven welcomes,
\nit's'Individuality <\/em>pure and intact.
\nThe rock too is only earth,
\nbut which rises upwards,
\nmarvelous force, gathered.
\nSummit above the fog,
\nhomeland of eternal joy, of serenity.<\/p>\n

\u201cBe on the mountain, always on the top!
\nMay all your deeds be accomplished up there, at the summit,
\nabove sin, mist, the devil.
\nAlways up on the mountain! \u00bb

The disciple wanted to settle on high, and lose contact with the earth. The angel had indicated in a previous interview that we were on the wrong track in trying to rush towards the spirit, that we simply had to live, and accomplish ourselves as a link between matter and spirit, between the created world and creative world. He now specifies that Heaven needs a rock to descend and insists on the need for man to be at the top of the rock.<\/p>\n

The goal is neither down nor up.
\nHE does not live above \u2013 HE does not live below.
\nHIM, HE lives in the accomplished.
\nThe goal is: to make the connection.
\nWithout a link, nothing lives.
\nThe chosen one tends neither upwards nor downwards.
\nThe chosen one lives and that is the link.<\/p>\n

Spirit kneads matter.
\nMatter calls for spirit.
\nThe song of the chosen one is the link
\nbetween matter and spirit \u2013 spirit and matter.
\nSINKING INTO MATTER \u2013
\nIT'S DEATH.
\nSOAR IN THE SPIRIT \u2013
\nIT'S FROM THE PAST.
\nBUT NOW THE VAULT IS FORMED, THE LINK.

The calendar brings together two highly symbolic events that have marked human history: the Transfiguration of Jesus and the explosion of the first atomic bomb in Hiroshima<\/a>. Yet there is nothing in common between the disintegration of matter in a deadly flash of light, and its transfiguration by Light. Nor is there anything in common between the fear of those whose eyes are opened to eternity and the dread of humanity discovering itself mortal. But despite everything that opposes them, these two \u201cAugust 6ths\u201d each illustrate in their own field the impasses in which man errs in wanting to confine himself to matter or to the spirit. To advance and bring about Man, whom the angel says he does not yet see, man's task is to make the link between matter and spirit, matter and Light, within himself. itself and not outside by the manipulation of atoms.<\/p>\n

The Light can manifest in each of us as in testifies Motolitov, disciple of Seraphim of Sarov<\/a>, a Russian Orthodox saint who died in 1833, whose body and face appeared to him transfigured: \u201cPicture yourself the face of a man speaking to you in the middle of a midday sun. (\u2026) You see neither his hands, nor his body, nor yours, but only this dazzling light which spreads several meters away all around, illuminating the surface of snow covering the meadow\u201d.<\/p>\n
