The shelves of those tormented by the question of the meaning of existence are filled most of the time with books on spirituality. Rare, indeed, in our time, those who have followed a straight path and dug it without looking at the teachings of other traditions.
\nThe readers of Talking with Angels<\/em>, of which I am, are probably no exception to the rule and have accumulated tens, if not hundreds of books of wisdom. It is not that it is right or wrong to accumulate books of wisdom; it's probably better than piling up war books, or pornography!<\/p>\n

The angel speaks of the books and says:<\/p>\n

There are many curious<\/span>
\n but there were amazed.<\/span>
\n They too were envoys.<\/span>
\n Look for them! They will teach you.<\/span>
\n L. Books or men?<\/span>
\n - It's the same thing.<\/span>
\n Be careful that they are amazed.<\/span>
\n To him who seeks, the master is given.<\/span> (E12L, p.66)<\/p>\n

If books are likely to teach, and to become our masters, then let us listen to them. If we read Talking with Angels<\/em> with our heads alone, it will have no more effect on our lives, on the world, than any of the books read in the same way. Let's not tell stories! If we are content to let ourselves be lulled by the images, the prosody, if we are content to quote it, we will NEVER transform ourselves.<\/p>\n

\"\"However, this book invites us to transformation, it is even the common thread.<\/p>\n

IF YOU TRANSFORM YOURSELF -,<\/span>
\n THE MATERIAL \u2013 ALSO \u2013<\/span>
\n IS OBLIGED TO TRANSFORM.
\n<\/span> (E30L, p. 186)<\/p>\n

Transformation to bring about the New Man, made of Matter-Light.<\/p>\n

It's nothing like responsibility. It can be overwhelming and seem so far from us that we tell ourselves that they are still legends for children in search of the wondrous.
\nSo we repeat the sentences and put the book down, happy to have read it.<\/p>\n

But what to do to transform oneself?<\/h3>\n

The only material at our disposal is our body and what we do with it: how do we treat it? How do we eat? What do we eat? How do we walk? How do we perform everyday actions? All daily gestures. How do we relate to the other, his neighbour, his boss, his employee, his colleague, his child, his lover, his fianc\u00e9e, his parents? What thoughts do we entertain? What emotions do we feed on?
\nOh, it's not about looking for recipes to be better, more "aligned" as we can read in the vocabulary of personal development, mystical esoteric.
\nIt is about transforming his way of being there in the world. Right here right now. In the body that I am. In the activities that I undertake during my working life, during my retirement, during my working time, during my holidays.
\nIt's as simple as that.
\nNo need to go to the end of the world.
\nNo need to change jobs or place of residence.
\nIt's here.
\nSo simple that it is impossible to realize it.
\nThe Angel warns us:<\/p>\n

The dreamer does not dream that he is sleeping,<\/span>
\n but that he is awake.<\/span>
\n He acts, he goes, he comes, he speaks.<\/span>
\n In reality, he is lying down and sleeping.<\/span>
\n But dawn is coming, the mists of the dream are already dissipating.<\/span>
\n THE NEW ACT IS APPROACHING.<\/span>
\n (…)<\/span>
\n EVERYTHING YOU DO NOW<\/span>
\n IS DREAM ACT, DREAM THOUGHT.<\/span> (E22G, p. 132)<\/p>\n

Yes, but then, how to transform?<\/h3>\n

Apart from the cases of illumination which do not strike everyone all the same, and not so often, it is on a daily basis that Talking with Angels<\/em> invites us to transformation. The book is full of precious little phrases: just take one and implement it. And if you had to choose one, it could be this one:<\/p>\n

\"\"Every moment and the moment of the moment are gates.<\/span>
\n THERE IS NO \u201cSACRED MOMENT\u201d.<\/span>
\n EVERY MOMENT IS SACRED.
\n<\/span> (E28G p. 165)<\/p>\n

even peeling potatoes, changing a wheel, scrubbing the toilet, let's not gargle about the great and beautiful things we think we do or have done because in truth:<\/p>\n

From eternity to eternity, each instant operates.<\/span> (E54, p. 280)<\/p>\n

Every moment is active.<\/span> (E75, p. 338)<\/p>\n

It's a sacred responsibility\u2026 a sacred responsibility!<\/p>\n

But what is the key?<\/h3>\n

Before acting, sanctify the moment!<\/span> (E21G, p. 123)<\/p>\n

or :<\/p>\n

START YOUR WORK<\/span>
\n AS IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE!<\/span> (E13L, p. 73)<\/p>\n

or :<\/p>\n

Honor HIS Law even in the smallest things.<\/span> (E11G, p.60)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\n\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

It is about feeling connected to your Angel, from moment to moment, and through the Angel, to be connected to HIM:<\/p>\n

EVERY STEP TOWARDS HIM IS AN AWAKENING.<\/span>
\n EVERY EXISTENCE \u2013<\/span>
\n NOT JUST YOURS \u2013 IS JUST DREAM.<\/span>
\n A SUBTLE DREAM\u2026 INCREASINGLY SUBTLE\u2026<\/span>
\n BUT A DREAM.<\/span>
\n ONLY ONE AWAKENING: HIM.<\/span> (E14G, p.76)<\/p>\n

It's basically simple: it's about placing HIM at the center of ourselves. Concretely. It may seem impossible. Just imagine that HE (\u00d6: HE-SHE in Hungarian) is our beloved and HE is!<\/p>\n

And then the Angel encourages us to drive out the thought of our unworthiness and our impotence because it is this which cuts us off from HIM.<\/p>\n

If you're tired during your lessons, don't be ashamed,<\/span>
\n and instantly you will no longer be tired.<\/span> (E13L, p.74)<\/p>\n

And to conclude, here is a summary in one passage of this invitation to constant union with HIM:<\/p>\n

\"\"Here is the secret of eternal life:<\/span>
\n That all your deeds, your faith, your thought, your love<\/span>
\n are constant.<\/span>
\n Any coolness \u2013<\/span>
\n is agony, disappearance.<\/span>
\n Letting go \u2013<\/span>
\n is fainting, dead.<\/span>
\n All repentance, all new beginnings \u2013<\/span>
\n are healing, resurrection.<\/span> (E81, p. 359)<\/p>\n

Let us therefore not content ourselves with being touched on the surface of ourselves and let us set out, concretely, effectively on the path of transformation. Knowing that the return to HIM erases all the falls that preceded this return and that, therefore, we have nothing else to do to transform ourselves than to leave ourselves, to offer HIM each of our moments and to carry HIM within us like a precious jewel, the presence of eternity inscribed in time.<\/p>\n
